Get started with your wallet

To log in to MetaMask, you need to follow these steps:

Logging into MetaMask

1. Install MetaMask Extension:

   • MetaMask is available as a browser extension for Chrome, Firefox, Brave, and Edge browsers. You can download it from the official MetaMask website: metamask.io.

   • Click on "Get Chrome Extension" or "Get Firefox Add-on" (depending on your browser).

2. Add MetaMask to Your Browser:

   • Follow the prompts to add the MetaMask extension to your browser. Once installed, you should see the MetaMask icon (fox logo) in your browser toolbar.

3. Launch MetaMask:

   • Click on the MetaMask icon in your browser toolbar to launch the extension.

4. Import or Create a Wallet:

   • Restore: If you already have a MetaMask wallet and want to log in to it, click on "Import wallet" and enter your 12-word seed phrase (recovery phrase) or connect a hardware wallet if applicable.

   • Create: If you are new to MetaMask, click on "Create a Wallet" and follow the prompts to set up a new wallet. Make sure to securely store your seed phrase.

5. Accessing Your Wallet:

   • After importing or creating your wallet, MetaMask will automatically log you in.

6. Using MetaMask:

   • MetaMask allows you to manage Ethereum and Ethereum-based tokens (ERC-20 tokens).

   • You can send and receive cryptocurrencies, interact with decentralized applications (dApps), and manage your wallet settings.

Security Tips

• Secure Your Seed Phrase: Your seed phrase is critical for accessing your wallet. Store it securely offline and never share it with anyone.

• Enable Two-Factor Authentication: MetaMask supports additional security measures like enabling two-factor authentication (2FA) for extra protection.
